What Is Basic Allowance for Housing?
Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is a monthly housing allowance for eligible service members when government housing is unavailable. Generally, the amount depends on the service member’s pay grade, dependency status, and permanent duty station. It is not based on the price of the home they choose.
